Martin County Kindergarten Requirements
2008/2009

We always look forward to welcoming our newest CLE students!  The first day of school is so exciting for the children and their parents.  On this page you will find our policy on First Day Procedures and School Requirements for Kindergarten.  If you have any other questions, please contact the school office.

First Day Procedures
Parents may NOT walk their child to class, even on the first day of school.  On the first day of school, all students will be directed or escorted to the cafeteria or covered play area by 5th grade Safety Patrol students, teacher’s aides and parent volunteers.  If you register a child later in the school year, the same will apply.

At Kindergarten Orientation, prior to the start of school, you will receive a name tag for your child with the Student name and their Teachers name.  As a courtesy, the PTA hosts a "new parent gathering" in the volunteer room to meet other new parents and share in the experience of the first day of school.  The volunteer room is located near the front office.

School Requirements for Kindergarten

The following items are required before your child can attend classes at CLE:

  • Birth Certificate - Children registering must submit a legal birth certificate.

  • 5 Years Old - Your child must be the age of 5 ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2008.

  • Physical Exam - Proof of a physical examination performed within one (1) year prior to the first day of school.

  • Florida Certificate of Immunization - Children without the required immunizations WILL NOT be able to attend.

  • Proof of Residency.- You are required to provide a proof of residency in the Crystal Lake Elementary School zone.

  • Social Security Card for your child

Parents need to call the school office to schedule a time for Kindergarten Placement testing which usually takes place a week before school starts.  The Friday before school starts, you will be invited to attend Kindergarten Orientation where you and your child can meet your child's teacher and visit the classroom and campus.

If you have any other questions, please contact the school office.
