Reading: This week we will be using newspapers and multimedia to follow the progress of the Gulf oil spill

Reading Skills Focus: Cause / Effect, Main Idea

Reading Focus Strategy: Ask Questions, Reread

Robust Vocabulary:  

Language Arts: Irregular Verbs

Math:  Multiplication and Division practice (Don't forget to encourage use of VMathLive!)- (See Link Below)

Social Studies: We are practicing our "Save the Sea" / "Save the Shore" 4th grade presentation that we created as well as reading and discussing current news about the Gulf oil spill.

Writing: Rhyming lyrics

Notes:

The Martin County School District has initiated a campaign to involve students in creating and sharing ideas to address the Gulf oil spill. Participation in the project will provide an opportunity for students to be involved in a real-world problem that is relevant to all of us. We will be videotaping on Thursday and presenting our 4th grade singing presentation for the Save the Sea / Save the Shore campaign to our school on Friday, June 4th. Select projects will be displayed at the Martin County Instructional Center and we may even be on channel 12 news!

Friday, June 4th is Field day!
