Quilts
Students
used fractions to create quilt patterns, and then created a
design for a quilt patch. The quilt patch will be a
design of an important part of each student's life.
The final quilt will be on display in the Media center when
it is finished.

Pueblo
Pottery
Students
learned about the Pueblo potters, concentrating on the work
of Maria Martinez who created beautiful burnished black
pottery. Students used the same hand building methods
as the Pueblo potters to create their bowls: pinch, coil and
burnish.

Fall
Still-Life
Students
explored still lives created by a variety of artists, and
identified art elements used. Then they created a fall
still life using good composition, and traced their lines
with glue. Finally, students used chalk pastels to
blend their color creating a 3-D look!

City Design
After students learned about the art elements of line,
shape, form and color, they also learned that architects use
those elements to design buildings.
Each student created an imaginary city using the art
elements.
