Radial Balance
Students used
geometric shapes to create a radial balance design.

Winter Value
Students learned to about the element of art of value which
refers to the lightness and darkness of a color, and created
tins (light value) of the color blue. Then they
learned to overlap triangle shapes and we turned our lesson
into a winter landscape.

Navajo War
Shields
Students
learned about the Navajo Native Americans and the symbols
and colors they used to decorate their everyday objects,
like the shields they used for protection.

Pickle Pumpkins
Students in
Kindergarten explored texture in nature and after they
printed Fall leaves on the paper, they created a pumpkin
using "pickle" shapes. They also added leaves around
their work by cutting and gluing.

Lines
and Shapes
Students were introduced to
the art elements of line and shape, and also learned about
the art of Abstract artist Joan Miro.
They created an Abstract
design using crayons.
After they created the line
and shape design, they used primary and secondary colors
with a watercolor media.
