*
There are many words in our language that children
are not able to sound out. In our classroom I
tell the students "secret stories" about special
letter combinations. Please ask your child to tell you
some of the stories. They are posted on the
wall in our classroom so the children may refer to
them as they come across words that have a secret
story hidden in them. So far they should know
about the sounds, ou & ow, au & aw and the th,
sh and wh
sound.*
